Meal Titles

Breakfast was at 11. Our next meal was at 530.

E. Is this lunch or dinner?

B. Dinner. 

E. No! We haven't had lunch yet. 

B. Ok. This is lunch. Dinner is ice cream after. 

It's my birthday

We spend 364 days a year counting down to January 12th. 

On August 28th, I tried to find out what Evan did for my birthday.

At home:

B: What did you give me for my birthday?

E: I got your library book today.

After dinner:

E: This In and Out dinner! This is for your birthday.

B: I paid.

At the ward picnic: 
E: It's your birthday lunch! How do you like your birthday lunch?
B: This is a ward activity.

Solomon and the baby

Evan is trying to watch Thor 2, Pirates 4, and an episode of KC Undercover at the same time. He has to choose between his computer, live TV and Netflix. 

A wrinkle in the analysis is that live TV is better than Netflix which is better than DVDs. All about scarcity

Time for bed

It is time

Evan has an obsession with time. He loves knowing how long it is until something starts or ends. He's a man of a schedule. He checks both of his cell phones for the time. And having the accurate time is paramount.

On our road trip out here, during a stressful moment when Mackey was killing my car's manual transmission and we were going to miss an exit, Evan pointed out we needed to change the time to central time zone. 

I say I will. Still helping Mackey shift. 

Evan taps me on the shoulder and points strongly at the clock. 

I stop to fix the time. And then get in the right gear. And we make our exit. 

Priorities.

Oh, Canada!

B: You need a passport because were going to Canada. 
E: Why do I need a passport?
B: Canada's a different country. 
E: Canada is not a country!

Questions in Quincy

Evan asked many many questions on our tour of Adams National Historic park in Quincy, MA. 

B: Evan you are asking too many questions

E: I ask 12. Not a lot

Best concert?

B: Which one was better: Bieber or Gomez? 

E: Both!

The time in Maine

During the night in Acadia, Maine. Evan asked me the time every 7 min for 1/2hr. I obliged, but was confused.

Finally I asked why he was asking and found out that his his phone kept switching between Atlantic and Eastern time. 

The universe is out of balance! What time is it supposed to be!

I tell him to stop checking since it will keep going until we get back to a city. 

He keeps checking all night and all day. 

Daylight Savings

Evan keeps old electronics after they don't work. He stores dead laptops in the closet until I throw them out. He still has his old cell phone, because he never lets it out of his sight - he brings both into the bathroom while he showers so I don't mess with them. I think he keeps the old one mainly because he has some good Wizard of Waverly Place episodes with his voice dubbed over recorded.

This was fine until daylight savings. Then his old phone wouldn't update but the new phone did.

I changed the bathroom and stove clocks on Sunday morning to the new time. On Monday morning, he changed them back to the old time to match his old phone. He was an hour early to work.

Evan handed me a printed picture of a battery powered clock. He said he needs a new one. I was confused because the one he has now still worked. He explained that he needs a new one because his old alarm clock matches the time on his old phone (which doesn't have a cellphone plan and doesn't get updated for daylight savings). So he needs a new clock for his new phone now that the time changed.
